We have absolutely no idea how to interpret and/or write about this, but, in short, we're deeply, deeply saddened to find out tonight (via phone call from Ontario) of David Foster Wallace's recent suicide. This is a serious loss.
For those of you who don't already know, the title "Frequent & Vigorous Quarterly" comes directly from Wallace's first novel, The Broom of the System. His influence on our magazine, our work, our minds is just indescribably huge. If you've been putting off reading his work, now's the time to do it.
What the fuck.
